Endpoint Central – Software Deployment

Packages

Windows EXE From Local Computer

The following guide gives detailed step by step instructions on how to deploy a customised Adobe Acrobat Reader package using ManageEngine Endpoint Central (MEEC).

Adobe Acrobat Reader is available in MEEC as a template however some of the default options are not ideal like upsell messages trying to get users to buy Acrobat Pro. As a result I have done a guide on how to make a custom Acrobat Reader package which you can find here.

We now build on that guide and show you how to deploy it with MEEC. This process can be used for almost any application you need to deploy with MEEC, all you need is the install string required to do a silent unatteded install.

This example will be deployable from MEEC cloud, so we will be using the lcate installable “From Local Computer”, which means we need to upload the install file. MEEC has a great feature where it allows you to add a 7zip file and then automatically extract the contents of the archive on the target machine when it starts installing.

Step 1 – Add the install files to a 7zip archive

Step 2 – Create a MEEC Windows EXE package

Step 3 – Test MEEC Windows EXE package

Step 4 – Deploy MEEC Windows EXE package
